Who: Nika, Aloysha, any?
When: Some time down the road?
What: Japan got in touch, why not Russia?

Aloysha held his coat open, playing tall, stoic windblock as his twin crouched, fingers in the sands as she concentrated. They'd...come quite a ways honestly, across the top of the world by hus calculations and down through Alaska and Canada. All ice and snow until it had shifted to stinging sands.

And...why?

Gods, in search of a better life.

Russia....wasn't a place he wanted to raise a family. They'd all been put under when war had loomed, cryostasis of the populace, but...that hadn't been the end, no. Those that had woke had realized the people could not easily survive this new world. No, they needed help. The fairest way to allot such was to apply methods in...batches. Every group of one hundred citizens received the same 'treatment' in hopes that at least a few would survive to thrive and carry on for the motherland.

They'd been unique; in their batch group two had survived. A trans-sublimation experiment, writing the body small in each cell and making them nearly indestructible. A perfect, deadly pairing of technology and biology. Two in one hundred souls...

...his wife's batch had a single survivor: pairing history and technology in a human mind. Tabitha knew the history of everything she touched, constantly updated via satellite uplink. Until she'd met him, her mate, she'd near gone insane with the data. He'd been able to divert the data analysis at times. Enough to make her healthy, and whole...and gods he loved her.

They...wanted children but fucked if he'd raise them in that frozen wasteland full of monsters and things that had once been human. Tabitha had found a lead. Just blips on her consciousness but...weak and broken signals from America of all places. Something had survived.

Maybe it was...better.

Safer.

He wasn't hoping for kinder, gods no, but...a place they could bear to raise a family? Hopefully.

Nika, his twin, had woken up with something of a wild streak, she'd always been willing to throw herself at problems but now she's hunt them and laugh as she chased them...

...but she also had an uncanny ability to trace things. Objects, people, it didn't matter she could hunt clues tirelessly. The faintest hint ad she connected events with unerring ability. He could kill anything they encountered; she could get them there...

...hence the sands. "It's got more life in," she mused, fingering the grit. "Shielded, recently."

East and South it was then, toward the future.
